I have been eyeing this Asian restaurant, Citizen, for a while now. A regular of St. Boniface, a quite hip and young area in Brussels, I like the vibe there and have so far tried and tested most of the restaurants around.

Citizen opened a while ago, offering Asian cooking in a very modern setting. The restaurant is all black and chrome, the entertainment? A projector showing classics such a Star Wars on the wall.

The menu is too long to mention, taking you through India, Thailand, Vietnam and China. There is a wide choice of starters, main courses, desserts and for the picky ones, Chinese and Thai beers are on offer as well. The service fast and pleasant, the food delicious. We shared Vietnamese rolls, and I opted for seafood with Thai basil.

For a no fuss Asian dinner out, Citizen is most definitely worth a visit. Reservations might be useful, as the restaurant tends to be full in the evenings.

Citizen: Rue Saint Boniface 4, 1050 Bruxelles, Tel: 02/502 00 08

I’ve been wanting to try this place since you first posted. Sounds Delish! What would you say the price range is?

Hi Alison. We paid about 20euro per person, but that included starters, main, and wine. prices are between 7 (starters) and max 16 for main. If you go, let me know how you liked it.
Also if in Bxl out shopping you have to try the Suki Noodles. It’s absoluteyl amazing (even better than the Citizen)!

Mmm, sounds great. I’ll give them both a go!

  • This really was one of the best restuarants I have ever been too. The soup starter was perfect and the panang curry was the best I have tasted.
