Belgian (not Greek) tragedy

No one saw this coming. Comme Chez Soi, THE Belgian reference restaurant, an institution, has lost one of its three Michelin stars. A Belgian tragedy indeed. For years Comme Chez Soi kept its place at the top of Belgian restaurants, a well deserved 3 star Michelin status. However it seems that in the new 2007 Michelin Belenux Guide, recently presented in Ghent, Comme Chez Soi is losing one star.

Receiving only 19/20 (oh dear!) the restaurant now run by Lionel Rigolet lost a star. I do wonder if this will in any way affect the prices, the over-booking of the restaurant so I’ll finally get the chance to try the exquisite cuisine at Comme Chez Soi.

Did you know that each year, Comme Chez Soi offers the opportunity for young people (under age 25)to discover their cuisine. I participated a couple of years ago, paid about 30 euro, was welcomed by the chef himself and enjoyed a delicious meal. Unforgetable experience.

  • Monsieur Pierre Wynants was indeed an institution but it was normal the Restaurant got an new evaluation when he retired and his son in law took over.
I visited the CCS since the 80ties till the beginning of this millenium. As I’m living now in Asia “Comme chez Soi” is only alive in sweet memories!
