I love Sushi

I ab-so-lute-ly love sushi. Not like, not really like. Love! Be it when we go out for dinner, or at a friend’s place, or alternatively make it at home. Our love for sushi goes far. Rain or sunshine, we’ll go out to find the best fish, buy the missing ingredients at the one and only Asian supermarket and then get started with preparing sushi. Consider both fishmonger and Asian supermarket are locate at the other end of the city from where we live …When looking for inspiration for our Japanese dinner last week I also came across Make My Sushi. Worth a visit.

As such not the most difficult dinner to prepare. It doesn’t take any cooking, just perfectly fresh ingredients. Lots of soy sauce, and of course … wasabi! This attempt included the widely used tuna and salmon, but we expanded to white fish as well, and we also created our own combination: avocado and fish eggs. What we didn’t try out is the inside out sushi rolls, but that will be for next time.

Sushi is very versatile and as long as the ingredients are super fresh (I can not stress that enough) easy to make. Additionally we also prepared sashimi, which in itself is just thinly sliced raw fish. Go-chisou sama deshita.

I love sushi too but I never seem to be willing to take the time to make some… I should really put that on my “to do” list!

sushi’s one of my favourite foods, too, and i ate loads of it even through my pregnancy. luckily we have a really good restaurant nearby who to take-away, so i don’t have to make my own… but i have made my own before and loved it, it’s just a bit time consuming, i find, not the sort of thing you want to start doing after a busy day at work!

Your sushi looks so good. That’s one thing we haven’t done much of here and I need to find a good sushi place. BTW on the topic of healthy eating, have you tried Soul yet? We went last week and really enjoyed it.

hmm sushi… i prefer sashimi rather than sushi. i must say i love it because i love raw fish and sake which comes with. But i must say i find sushi are too much overestimated. i Have lot of respect for japaneses food but i dont think it’s the most interesting thing. I must say i m often much more impressed by a simple miso soup.

    I really enjoy japanese food.
