I ab-so-lute-ly love sushi. Not like, not really like. Love! Be it when we go out for dinner, or at a friend’s place, or alternatively make it at home. Our love for sushi goes far. Rain or sunshine, we’ll go out to find the best fish, buy the missing ingredients at the one and only Asian supermarket and then get started with preparing sushi. Consider both fishmonger and Asian supermarket are locate at the other end of the city from where we live …When looking for inspiration for our Japanese dinner last week I also came across Make My Sushi. Worth a visit.
As such not the most difficult dinner to prepare. It doesn’t take any cooking, just perfectly fresh ingredients. Lots of soy sauce, and of course … wasabi! This attempt included the widely used tuna and salmon, but we expanded to white fish as well, and we also created our own combination: avocado and fish eggs. What we didn’t try out is the inside out sushi rolls, but that will be for next time.
Sushi is very versatile and as long as the ingredients are super fresh (I can not stress that enough) easy to make. Additionally we also prepared sashimi, which in itself is just thinly sliced raw fish. Go-chisou sama deshita.
