  • Over 30 years ago, when I was a very young girl, this recipe was shown on Blue Peter (very popular children’s programme at the time, still around but less popular now).

    Since that time, they have been my speciality and have been made for countless BBQs at home and friends’ places.

    I guess when I was smaller, my mum helped me with the knife skills…

    A variation I came across on safari a few years back was to pour a shot of Amarula (Baileys would be a good substitute) over the hot chocolate and banana flesh before serving! Mmm!
