Brussels in Lists

OK so my posting has not improved, but I am making notes of things to share. Like summer markets, weekly aperos, and lists I come across. For example these ones from BrusselsBlogt, a Flemish blog on all things Brussels which started a list series.

Of interest to On (Glorious) Food and Wine? The lists on:

  1. the best places to drink gueze (the local Brussels beer brew)
  2. the five best Japanese restaurants in Brussels (agree with all!). Read more on Chez Oki. We definitely have to go back there.
  3. the best places to eat stoemp a deliciously filling Belgian dish. I don’t know all the places they list, but you can read more about Les Brassins and La Fin de Siecle right here on this blog.

Enjoy!

Oh and kind of related but not, for those of you coming to visit Brussels this summer, check out this new tourism office which really reflects Brussels as the locals see it.

  • You can also find the original post (in English) on Japanese restaurants here:

That list is rather old… there are some new places I have heard about but not tried yet (one in Waterloo which is supposed to be quite good).

As for Chez Oki, the quality has declined since my first visit. It is still good, but it depends a lot on whether Chef Oki is doing the cooking…

Good luck with your new place!

  • Perfect timing! I’m heading there next month, and this will help in my planning. Much thanks!
