We love a good Brussels wine bar as much as you. Which is why we keep an eye on any new Brussels wine bars we can share on the blog. Always a good excuse to go sip some wine and try some food, eh?
The Winery as such is not new to Brussels. Operating since 2004, the Winery bars (‘chain’ would not be doing them justice) are now present in 3 different locations in Brussels – Place Brugmann (2004), Schuman (2010) and most recently Boitsfort (2017). The latter is the one we visited recently, and wanted to share with you.
The Winery is somewhere in between a restaurant, a wine bar and a wine merchant. There is delicious food on offer – my heart melts when I see cheese and charcuterie platters on offer! – and of course there is wine. A lot of it. Most of it French.
Wine can be enjoyed by the glass or bottle directly in the wine bar, or on their terrace as well as bought to enjoy later. The focus of Winery Boitsfort is on French wines – particularly from the Languedoc, Loire (probably my favorite wine region!) and Roussillon area. Not a fan of French wines? Some wines from Southern European – Italy, Spain and Portugal – are also on offer. Surely among the 300 bottles on offer there is something for every wine taste.
On our visit we opted for a mix of starters, pick and mix from the lunch offer (15e) and a cheese platter all paired with wines by the glass from the weekly changing menu. There was no room for dessert 🙂 As they say a picture speaks a 1000 words … so we will leave you with our impressions of this visit.
It was our first visit at Winery Boitsfort, but surely not the last one as Winery is a wine bar completely after our heart. Next up? Probably Winery Schuman.
I would like to extend our thanks to Winery for inviting us to review their wine bar and organizing this amazing meal and to their staff for hosting us and dealing with our endless questions and cameras with grace.
