I am of the ‘Friends’ generation – the get togethers, the fun, the heartbreak, the sharing of an apartment. Been there, done that and loved it. Which is why a place like Morton Place Louise hit home for me – meet ‘Friends’ made in Brussels.
We sometimes share on this blog our finds on where to stay in Brussels. This one is just a little bit different as it is not technically a hotel … but it does offer all the comfort of one. Plus more. Thought out as a shared home for (young) professionals, this art nouveau Saint Gilles house reminded me a lot of my favourite 90s series. Great common spaces perfect for lounging over
Friends Netflix, a fantastic kitchen (put to good use during our visit by Chloe & Sarah from BrusselsKitchen), a reading corner perfect to catch up on glossy magazines.
The upstairs becomes a lot more private – and I might add, luxurious! – with individual rooms and en-suite bathrooms. Ideal for a young Brussels professional. Exactly the kind of place I would have loved to stay in at the beginning of my Brussels bubble work life, surrounded by like minded locals and expats.
Morton Place Louise is also pure house-envy! The decor is tasteful and ‘grown-up’, and designers Claudia Ahrend and Isabelle Steemans managed to bring the original art nouveau elements to life. Also the wallpapers and wall paints throughout the house are to. die. for.
Morton Place Louise captures everything Friends was to me – great (and affordable) design combined with great community living. Plus it’s in my ‘hood … so we’re always on hand for foodie tips around the corner.
