12 romantic gift ideas for St. Valentine’s

In previous years we shared with you our favourite Brussels traditional chocolate houses, as well as our favourite restaurants in Brussels offering special St. Valentine’s menus. This year we are going for something different. We searched across Belgium for the most romantic and exquisite gifts to offer, to receive, or simply to enjoy yourself!

Simply put: the gifts we would love to receive.

Looking … to relax?

Nothing beats a few hours in a spa. To unwind, relax, leave the social media buzz behind. Actually come to think of it, our last spa break was before we had our whirlwind energetic toddler. Not dropping any hints or anything…

Spasiba offers 80min of couples bliss while being scrubbed and massaged. Ahhh.

Spa O Siam has all month of February a special offer for 1h duo massage, extra 2h of spa time plus 2 glasses of cava. Make that a bottle.

Looking … to offer flowers?

Flowers are always welcome. But if like us, you don’t actually get around to regularly buy and offer flowers, then these two Brussels flowery options should do the St. Valentine’s trick. And not only.

The Bloomery Brussels is all about proposing rose boxes linked to iconic locations in Brussels. No wonder their instagram page is a social hit.

Bloomon caters for the carefree nature lovers and proposes to deliver – on bike – your chosen flower bouquet to your chosen one.

Looking … to eat out?

It would have been impossible to write about St. Valentine’s without sharing our love for restaurants. We share 2 very special ones to us here, but for a complete ’10 best of’, pop in to our instagram stories closer to the 14/02.

Francois is for us pure perfection. This St. Valentine’s, from 13 to 28 February, Francois offers a dinner for two, under the sign of gastronomy, discovery and travel. How come? Each couple dining will choose a raffle ticket for the chance to win a weekend in a romantic European destination. Winners will be announced 1 March.

Louise345 is a restaurant we haven’t been to … yet. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love Isabelle Arpins’ cuisine and her quirky take on St. Valentine’s. From 13 to 17 February, couples ordering the St. Valentine’s menu will share a common (1) plate per course. Very Lady & the Tramp.

Looking … to  sleep in?

We keep saying that staycations are the future. We haven’t yet booked any Belgian holidays for this year, but looking around these two destinations – one on the French side, and one on the Flemish – gave us the necssary kick to start planning soon.

Ne5t is a heaven of pure bliss. The hotel combines old-school charm with modern amenities. There is a spa. An indoor and outdoor pool. All set on the beautiful grounds of a former farm close to Namur.

Chateau de Spycker takes us to Bruges where old world meets … old world. A true to its core château, this hotels reminds us (a lot!) of the one where we got married. All the feels.

Looking … to learn?

OK, we are cheating just a bit. Maybe learning is a bit harsh when it actually comes down to cooking and eating great food, or mixing and drinking tasty cocktails. Let me be a student forever.

Lemmonier was one of our foodie discoveries of last year and this superb gastronomic offer around the black diamond, truffle, sounds like an amazing experience.

Le Chatelain Hotel is taking cocktails to a different level and offers a master class which sounds like a lot of (SATC) fun.

Looking … to spoil?

Rob Gourmet basically brings St. Valentine’s to your home. Their ‘let’s eat in’ offers ranges from surprises, bubbles, gourmet snacks and so on. Easy to impress.

BelgiBeer gives St. Valentine’s a Belgian touch and offers a beers Valentine’s box, which includes a 3 months beer box … and a personalized beer bottle. Every Belgian beer fans dream!
